IS A CSA A GOOD PLAN FOR OUR FAMILY?
Can our family adjust our eating habits to a CSA? Are we prepared to eat what’s in season?
Can we go to the farm weekly to get our share? Can someone else pick up our share when we cannot?
PRODUCE PREFERENCE SURVEY
Please tell us which produce you would like to get from the farm. Some can be grown in
abundance as staple foods (S); some in smaller amounts to add variety (V); some are herbs or add seasoning (H).
Growing some of the vegetables listed below is greatly dependent on the challenges of nature (C). This means we may be able to bring them to harvest or we may not.
After each garden item, please indicate your family’s preference:
4—like this very much, bring it on
3—we’ll take it home and eat it
2—we’ll try it in a limited amount to expand our food experience
1—wouldn’t poke a stick in it; even the dog wouldn’t eat it

A CONNECTION WITH THE LAND AND A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FARMER
We understand a CSA is about the freshest locally grown food we can feed our family; that this food is grown without chemicals in ways that sustain the soil and protect our health; and that we will be eating seasonally.
We agree to share with the farmer abundant harvests as well as the risk of unpredictable, limited production. The farmers are committed to delivering the best of the farm’s produce to our sharing families and returning the full value of the shareholder’s investment by the end of the season.
Because of the member-choice feature of the “Garden Gate” concept, we realize we are responsible for selecting produce throughout the season to use our share. We understand there are no refunds if we do not take enough produce home by the end of the harvest.
