POTATO SOUP WITH GREENS AND SAUSAGE

1 lb. fresh turnip greens, chopped (or kale, mustard or collards)
3 T. olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
5 3/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
6 potatoes, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
8 oz. smoked sausage, thinly sliced (optional)
1 cup half and half (optional)
salt and pepper to taste

In large pot, saute onion and garlic in oil.  Add broth and potatoes. Bring to boil and cover.  Reduce heat to a simmer

for 20 to 30 minutes.  Add sausage and seasonings.  Simmer 15 minutes.  Add greens and simmer 10 minutes or until

tender.  Stir in half and half and heat through.
