ENJOY A HORSE-DRAWN WAGON RIDE IN THE COUNTRY

Klaus and two of our huge draft horses will show you the countryside! Klaus is Bavarian-born and came to America in 1991. He’ll entertain you with his observations of American life and enlighten you about the use of horses in our farming history. You’ll marvel at the command he has of these magnificent workers with just the slightest movement of his fingers on the harness lines.

Our horses—Charlie, Sam and Nash—are up to eighteen hands tall and weigh over a ton each. Their shoes are as big as dinner plates!

Ride on a farm wagon full of hay bales or our  buggies with benches for four or six. Smell the sweet hay—and maybe the horses just a little.

If there’s a new blanket of snow on the ground you’ll experience the silence of a winter day broken by the clink-clink of the harness rings and the clop-clop of the horses’ hooves.

The horses are hitched up for farm and garden work in all seasons. Choose your season for an unforgettable wagon ride.

When you come to Karbaumer Farm for a wagon ride—whatever the season—have a bonfire and picnic in a small grove of trees right on the farm. There’s even a bandstand if you’d like to bring a band along to entertain your group. Try fishing for your supper in our small farm pond or just row out to the middle and feed the fish their supper instead.
